No I would not be able to buy his car even if the price was right ,its too nice of a car for me.I think it will probably be sold fairly easy as it is very nice and the color is favorable as well. I drive my cars too much to have a nice one especially a black one ,but I do talk to people all over that are looking for special cars like Gary's. Gary, good luck with it .

Is financing available?
I have a job and $99 down.
I want free oil-changes for the life of the vehicle.

Yes,there is a reason.Every time I see a picture of a Forest green with white stripe cowl inducted 70,I sometimes regret buying the black car. That was my first choice and got tired of looking after 3 years for the right car.Maureen says just get a green one too.:p I really have a great offer on the car, but we are$7k apart and I am holding firm.

Forest green was the original color I was looking for before I decided to go a different direction. They look good in green.

I am still trying to get this through my head. But I do agree with Derek, close enough just isn't the same with what you really want.
But why am I the last one to know ?? lol I just talked to you and you didn't even let it slip. I probably should have known that something was up, just the tone in your voice. I hope that you find that green 70, unless you already have and haven't told anyone.

Good luck Gary. I like black cars but the Forest Green would be nice. I like to see the 70's in something other than black and red. Seems like that's all you see.
Does this mean you'll be sticking around and we'll have to continue putting up with you? :D
So which is worth more a black one or a green one?? LOL .... this could get interesting!
Ms Grumpy
10-20-2011, 06:53 PM
I will tell you that when we were looking at colors (grandsport don't hate me for this), grumpy told me that green was the kiss of death when you try to sell a car. We would watch the Barrett Jackson Auctions and any green car really seemed to go for a lesser price. But I think that it all depends on the color green.
All I know is that I am excited to hear about grandsports new adventure. And I look forward to going along with him for the ride.

Green would not have been my first choice on a chevelle until I saw Erics car freshly painted and realized how few of those colors you see out and about .His car and color has changed my view of other colors and combos .Now I want a green wagon but Im not getting one ,still need to thin the current herd .

That's a nice looking 70 Brian. The ad says "rebuilt with new piston". I wonder why they didn't replace all of them.
My 70 Nova is Forest Green with a black VT. I really like that color. I haven't seen very many of them that color. One of the reasons I like it so much.

I saw that one too. I agree with Nancy green cars seem to go for less. That why I didn't go with one. Black and red always seems to for more bucks.

Green definitely doesn't seem to draw the $$ of a red or black car but it is all about personal preference and intent for the car. I like that I don't see my color combo very often and actually really like the color. If someone was building a car to flip I would definitely paint it one of those two colors (red/black). I don't think there are too many other cars I would want that are green except may be a 70 Camaro in the same color.

Ok,we talked about the situation over dinner at our favorite resturant this evening. Maureen was amazed I've had the black car 4 years and never said a word about a green one.She knows how much I wanted Forest green,so it was basically I told you so. The black car means too much to both of us and she will be upset if I sell,so we both agreed I should start looking for another 70. This should really come as no shock to anyone here, being the wacko that I am.So it is a no sale for the black car and the hunt is on.Waving
Good luck with that Gary ... sometimes the hunt is most of the fun! ...

I could tell that there were things that weren't original in the engine comp. Being that it's a numbers matching car and green, I thought it was a nice car. The price in my opinion seems alittle high.If I see one for sale, I'll post a link up for ya Gary. Bowtie smiley

Don't you think we are all car lovers here. I don't think it is bragging on your part.....I think it is envy on my part. I wish I had the space to have a second car, cause believe me we would. Like you said, some people own boats, RV's, take vacations....we have cars. It is just our passion.

Hey, you work hard for your money so you can spend it on things that make you happy. If your hard work and talent get you what you want and others are jealous, oh well. I say good for you, most of us don't work because it's fun, we work because we have to. If we're lucky we get to buy more than just the necessities. So good luck finding the 'Green' car. I hope to see both it and the 'Black' car someday. Maybe after my busted butt heals up.
