Good thing i painted yesterday. It is cold and snowing out there now. Not enough to say it did almost. But I did see it hitting the truck and it wasn't melting

We never really got any high winds like that here Ric. It was nice and comfy outside with 73°. I went around the house checkin the gutters and putting on some Flex Seal in the corners that had small leaks before. Mulched the grass and leaves so I'm good to go.

Today its cold (39°) rainy and windy. Tomorrow they're saying maybe some snow.

42* this morning, 70* this afternoon. Hopefully warming back up over the next few days, I have been trying to get my father's truck bed painted. It's all blocked and masked, just waiting for the best possible weather conditions.

Rain and more rain. Looks like another record month for rain. Been really wet the last two months. I think we have only had 4 days this month without rain.

carpoor

Low 80s the past two days. The weather has been beautiful.

Were in the makings of about 10" of that white crap. I went out about 2 hrs ago and used the snowblower on 3 1/2" of it. Right now theres about 4" more, so it don't look like I did anything. I'll do it again later on and then again in the morning before Judy leaves for work.

It has been in the 80s the past three days. ::Shrug::

shadowgray396
12-16-2016, 08:11 AM
We had freezing rain a week ago and yesterday we had a snow event. It's amazing how a few inches and some ice completely shut down the roads. Kids got stranded at schools until 11 pm at night, some didn't get home for 6 to 10 hours, hundreds of cars left on the roads. It really was a lack of DOT getting de-icer on the roads before the storm and not closing schools early, plus people not having chains and traction tires. It took me 4 hrs to go 17 miles to home from work. I had chains on, many did not. I bought 4 new traction tires for the GMC last night, feels like it can climb a mountain now.

chevymaher
12-16-2016, 12:58 PM
it has been single digits here the last couple days. And it is supposed to get to almost 60 in a day or so with rain. So they called off the snow we were going to get. It will be rain instead.

I broke down started the truck and drove it to warm it up and circulate the fluids it almost time to be using it everyday

chevymaher
12-16-2016, 04:44 PM
And being ky it already changed a little. Now they saying sleet then freezing rain till morning. Then warm and rain tomorrow with thunderstorms like it is spring or something. Bad thing is i got to be driving a hour in a row a hour after it starts. Yea. Hope I miss it actually.

Started off a little chilly this morning, ended up with 76* the high. It was one of the driest days this year. Still right around 70*, I just took my dogs out in shorts, a t shirt, and flip flops.

shadowgray396
12-17-2016, 09:11 AM
Freeways are clear, but it's amazing how the cities are doing nothing about the side roads that are icy. Its finally going to thaw maybe by Sunday and back to rain.

Expecting snow tomorrow then changing to freezing rain tomorrow night and remaining below freezing most of Sunday. Expecting around 1" of ice. Most likely power will be going out in some area's. Sounds like it might return again in a week.

Hank70SS
01-07-2017, 08:31 AM
Ya, west coast is going to get hammered along with the south east and east coast. We just have cold, around 6* right now and a little bit of light snow, lake effect snow that makes it this far across the state.

Snow is now started to fall, we will see what happens in the next 24 hours.

Snow came, but we only got 1/2 inch. Down south of us got 4 to 6 inches. Freezing rain has started and is expected to get worse by mid morning tomorrow.

It is just wicked cold here. More snow wed they say. I got the van clean gave it a indoor car wash. Truck got to wait to be driven it gets the quarter car wash treatment in the winter. But it has to be at least 20 out so it dont just freeze the truck shut on the way home.

carpoor
01-08-2017, 10:50 AM
Winter is temporarily back, 36 degrees this morning. Currently 44, and only expecting a high of 52 this afternoon.

Hank70SS
01-08-2017, 05:21 PM
52 sounds great, it's 15 here. Supposed to be in low 40's Tuesday but snow turning to rain at night or something like that. It's been too cold here to snow much. Usually get the heaviest snows when temps are in the 20's, pushing 30.

chevymaher
01-09-2017, 07:33 AM
20 now and going into the 30's we having a heat wave today LOL

carpoor
01-09-2017, 02:09 PM

shadowgray396
01-11-2017, 06:16 AM
It's a winter wonderland around here.

Hank70SS
01-11-2017, 08:55 AM
We got around 5" yesterday but the temps kept rising, turned to rain gusts of 50 mph or more. Glad I didn't waste my time clearing the snow. The driveway is pretty much clean, a little ice but temps are supposed to hit around 40 again today. We did lose power around 9:30 last night, came back around 5:30 this morning. I'm really liking that automatic standby generator. Power went out, generator fired up and a few seconds later we had power again. The cable system was knocked out so we watched a DVD.

shadowgray396
01-11-2017, 09:53 AM
12" and counting snow. Not going to stop snowing till 4pm today. Most snow in 30 years. Heavy rain on the way by next Tuesday and 50 degrees. Won't be above freezing until Sunday. Lots of trees down in the area and power out.

chevymaher
01-11-2017, 04:48 PM

Hank70SS

We are having bizzare weather right now. Extremely windy and 66 degrees. But it is going down to 31 tonight. It needs to or the stupid trees will bud and it will kill them when it does get cold again.

Hank70SS
01-12-2017, 08:16 AM
Same thing here. Temps kept rising all day. Got to 58 in Detroit last night, close to that here. Wind, downpour and lightening. 29 here right now.

carpoor
01-13-2017, 08:14 AM
It was almost 80 degrees yesterday, similar weather today.

shadowgray396
01-14-2017, 02:40 PM
Been staying in the 20's so the ice has been bad. We don't use salt here, and the roads are not sanded on the side roads. Most freeways are clear. Expecting it warm to 50 on Tuesday with major rain next week. So flooding is going to happen, since freezing levels are going to 6000 feet. We are at 100 feet elevation.

carpoor
01-17-2017, 05:24 PM
Can you say eighty degrees? A little humid, but otherwise a beautiful day.

shadowgray396
01-18-2017, 12:29 PM
Ice and snow is finally melting. Going to be 50 here today, but 2" of rain. Flooding is going to happen. Since Oregon doesn't use salt, the roads have been bad for over a week.

The weather here has been miserable. Started the week with rain, sleet, freezing rain then more rain. The outside humidity has been 99% or close all week. Fog in the morning that doesn't clear out until in the afternoon then it comes back around 5-6 o'clock. We did get to see the sun for a few hours yesterday afternoon, it was in the upper 50's. Today solid gray skies all day. Everything outside is dripping wet. Even the things on the patio under an enclosed deck above.

Anyway, I'm sick of it. Packing the motorhome this week and heading to Florida next Saturday. Tony you better save us some sunshine or no Koegel hot dogs for you!

Ya, rained here again today and more tonight. Supposed to be cloudy all week and the temps are dropping through the week. Just when I have to pack the motorhome. Lower 80's here in south Fl. Cold front coming in this week, only going to upper 70's. That's what they call a cold front here, a drop in temps of a few degrees. Heat wave means the temps going up maybe 5 degrees. These people would all freak out if they ever experienced a real cold front. Me, I hardly notice the difference.

Ken Hayes
02-07-2017, 03:53 PM
We haven't really had that much snow here in the Motor City either. Think I've used the small snowblower only 3 times. Today its 42° and been light rain all day. Almost all the snow that was on the ground is melted.........good, it will wash most of the salt off the roads.

This has been going on since I left work Thursday. I have missed out on some great weather because I have been feeling so crappy.

One of my good friends, same age as me, had to go to the hospital because his symptoms were so bad. He's on meds, but had a bad reaction and has a nasty rash all over his arms and chest. Got over an inch of rain here yesterday. We're about 8 miles north of Homestead, Fl, about 30 miles from Key Largo. All the keys got hammered along with Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Guess that's not bad, first rain since we've been here, except I've got 2 leaks at top of windshield in the motorhome. Not sure if it's the windshield or a couple of the marker lights up higher. Well house is fine. Looks like about a cord of wood on the roof. Kidding but there is a bunch up there I got to get down when it dries off. Down the road what ever it was ripped a tree out by the roots that was a good 15 foot in diameter. Bunch of tornadoes just north of us.

Chevelle made it this time. When I first got the stupid car tornadoes knocked a big tree down on it. Tree kinda tripoded over the car limiting the roof damage tho. That was a big repair fixing the roof. A years worth of extra work I could have done with out.

60 mph winds yesterday. 27 hours no power. Trees down everywhere, with all this rain the ground is saturated and did take much for the trees to go down with leaves on them. Been over 90 here for a week, average temp is like 71 this time of year. High humidity has made it miserable but we haven't had any rain for awhile. Lawn is looking a little toasted, actually a lot toasted.

Cool and in around 70 with rain showers off and on during the week. The big fire is only 50% contained, but not causing any problems these days.

We're finally getting some rain. It's been raining pretty steady most of the night and we really need it. Going to put a damper on finishing the roof on the upstairs porch. I've replaced the last 2' of roof board and the ends of some of the trusses. Now I have to finish removing the rolled roofing and put down the metal roof. We need the rain and I need a break so it's okay.

Like I said it's been a steady rain. no wind or lightening but the power went out a minute ago and the generator started up. Guess I need to let the power company know the electric is out.

The heat and humidity was brutal today. I believe 94 degrees at one point. It was still 85 at quarter till 7. Tomorrow I will be working on a roof, looks like another day of sweating profusely.

Enough rain already. 1.5" on Wednesday, more on Thursday. Got a break on Friday. Today it's been a steady rain for the last 10 hours. Not a drizzle but a pretty hard rain. On radar there is a band from Iowa up through Chicago and over us. Every time I look at it, it looks the same. From early this morning until now, 5PM. Glad our house sits up high.
