71 chevelle 3400 lbs guessing
9.5:1 compression
AFR 195cc street heads 2.05/1.90
Performer RPM air gap
650 or 750 cfm carb have both
700r4 2600 stall
2.73 but 3.73 or 3.90 going in the spring
26" tire

Can not afford a roller so solid flat tappet it will be
Lunati recommended
30120741 Voodoo series

Comp has 4/7 swap
282 / 290
244 / 252
110 / 106

I ran the comp non 4/7 swap same spec in desktop dyno 2003 did not do as well as Lunati's grinds

Open to suggestions will be ran on the street or I would have ran Lunati's oval tight lash 2
30121102 which kicked the most in dyno simulation but for the street not so much

Open to opinions and suggestions

What is the primary use of the car? 241/249 @ .050" seems HUGE for a street driven 355 with a 2600 converter.

IMHO - I would like to see a cam with less overlap to build compression, rather than bleed it off. The lunati cam has 25 degrees of overlap. I bet the DCR sucks with thats camshaft.

I would like to see something like a 230/234, on a 112 LSA, 108 or 109 ICL, and .550"-ish lift. I know a SFT cam loses some of the specs through the lash, but I think the modern grinds require less lash... therefore not as much of a loss.

Focus on power under the curve instead of peak power. Just my $0.10 worth...

And forget the 4/7 swap...waste of time, money and effort on a mild street engine.

I have been playing with close to 12 different cams in the desktop dyno program and 106/102 gave the best numbers without falling on its face after 4500 the other cam that looked good is a 108/102 oval track cam also grind 30121101 which is 2000-6500

update ended up with an isky 246/246 @.050 274/274 advertised .534/.534 lift on a 108 love it works great with my setup. I did have to put in a vacuum canister to help with the breaks though.

Good choice on the solid flat tappet....will out perform a hyd roller every time.
Are your power brakes ok ...perhaps a hydroboost setup.
Btw a larger lca will give more vac and have a wider power band but gives up some peak
power and torque.

Single pattern and tight LSA should be very torquey. What's the ICL?

True ICL 108 I will try to post some pics tonight of the cam change. I ended up paying more for lifter than the cam but here was the parts list for the cam change. Realize this was done in the summer and I found three wiped lobes on the old camshaft. More pics will post what I got.

Ati-917781 harmonic balancer
Cloyes 9-3100 timing chain
Fel-Pro 1205 intake gasket
Fel-Pro tcs45165 timing cover set
Lucas 30 break-in oil 5qt
Piston stop
Summit degree wheel
Isky SO202H lifters
Lunati 30121101 cam
Aem 30-4110 wide band gauge
moroso 73800 ultra 40 wire set
And some ebay protector boots
coolant from the local parts store.

I also wanted to add I did my homework before buying the cam used Vizard's formula to spec it out

3436Like the lifters from the 3 flat lobes I found from the old cam
3437It was a pain in the ass removing the inner valve springs for cam break in I ended up pressurizing the cylinders with a old compression checker after removing the shrader valves out of it. The had to deal with stubborn retainers also.
