fan in car not functioning

question. I bought a car off craigslist, 69 mailibu. the seller says the fan not working, should I assume its because the evaporator box is not attached to the firewall? I don't have the car yet, but it is getting cold. supposedly the heater core is there and hoses hooked up, but where is the fan located? it was originally a factory air car, which I plan to re hook up eventually, but how to I get heat /fan to work?

Yes if the fan is not there yet it can't work. Fan bolts onto the evaporator box.

ok that makes sense , so I need to put the evaporator box back on, and hopefully the fan works. thanks

when I get the car. the car is in new York, I am in Kansas city, and I am waiting for carrier to get car which they say is 3 to 7 days.
