1970 Chevelle SS

I have a 1971 chevelle 454 non number matching, takes 7 qt oil plus filter to change oil, just bought a 1970 Chevelle SS number matching and just changed the oil it took 5 qt oil plus filter. Just wondering do I have a problem or is this normal. Thanks

Just a bigger oil pan on the 71.

Sounds like someone changed out the oil pan on the 71
