Jeep GC steering box swap...

I found a box and rag joint, but Lee mfg is out of business. They made the adapter inserts for the lines. Does anyone know where to get them? I've searched, no luck. All of the threads say Lee mfg and send me to links that are dead.

Damn, sorry to hear that. My LS is already metric so it was just a trip to the autozone for me. Do you have a hydraulic hose business nearby? They will be able to put the correct metric end on your original style hoses for the jeep box.

I found this info on another site. This may be an option for you as well.

No adapers needed, just install a Metric O-ring syle output fitting in your PS Pump and use O-ring lines. I think the O-ring lines/fittings are superior and less likely to leak.

I got a PS Pump output fitting from a late 80s S-10 PU (I think it was an 86) and installed it in my stock PS Pump. Just took the old fitting out and the S-10 fitting threaded right in letting me use an O-ring line on stock PS Pump. Depending on what year your car is you might be able to buy a later pump that has the O-ring fitting and use the whole pump. Mine is a 68 with the round/oval neck on the PS Pump so I had to retain the original pump with just the newer fitting installed.

Hrmm... Didn't think about this. I am using a complete LS engine from a 2001 truck, I have cobbled lines to go from the truck acc drive to the old box. Wonder what late model lines will work? Maybe a third generation Camaro? Or late model S10?

Your already LS as well? I can get you the part number I'm using. It's a bolt in and go. Metric on both ends already. I believe the one I used is from a late model monte carlo. I'll find out when I get home.

That would be great. The 67' C10 has a 78' TA sub frame, LS1/4L60E swap. The 72' Malibu has a 2001 4.8/4L60E swap. Going to do the Jeep GC box swap in both.

FYI...for future reference for others doing this upgrade.
Yes, the Lee adapters are no longer available but there is a substitute available from Speedway Motors...

The hose I'm using is a Duralast 71074 I picked up from autozone. It could be shorter, but it works great once you get it tweaked a bit so it's situated right. Bowtie smiley

I'm probably running a different power steering pump then you if you have the truck pump. You might even check into the hose that fits the truck your motor came out of.
