Back to the Bricks 2015

Ric, do you know if we'll be in the same spot as last year or where? See if I can do it this year without Police escort..............LOL.

RBeckman 07-09-2015 05:21 PM

Yes I just confirmed that we still have the same spot this year, plus I have talked to our Canadian friends that park across from us and he should have a few spots as well to give up.

OK Ric I really want to go to back to the bricks this year.
If you will have me.
I am so fed up with the WWDC.
Please let me know.

RBeckman 07-20-2015 06:59 AM

Yes you are all welcome to join us, I just got a email from our Canadian friends that part next to us and they are giving me a extra 5 spots so we should be all set. The Back to Bricks tune-up party's start the week of August 3rd and you may want to look at those as well as they are a lot of fun. http://backtothebricks.org/

I'm still waiting for directions from the Back to Bricks parking committee on the process for this year as they seem to change it almost every year and will forward you all the information when I get it. I will be in Mexico next week on business and should have access to emails to be able to keep you all updated.

Well another successful week of rolling cruises and the main event in Down Town Flint. Thanks Hank and Ken for being part of the fun and for Tony for stopping in and to see how we were doing.

We had some extra spots so we had 4 Rat Rods that were friends of our friend Mike and those seem to be a big hit with people as we have never had that many people come into our little area before. I have to admit those take a lot of imagination that I know I don't have. My favorite was a 1965 F100 that sat on the ground with dually and had a old drive shaft sticking out looking like a wrecker with a chain hanging from it...and it had a Buick 455 in it and he said it does get up and go.

We think we found the dog that pissed on Tony's tire a couple years ago and we would have been sure if it pissed on Hank's.

Here is 4:15 A.M looks like leaving to secure our spots.

Next big one is Frankenmuth.

I got to talkin with the guy that owned the Rat Rod parked on the end. I said it looked kinda hard parkin that thing with the front wheels skiddin over the bricks when he turned the wheels..........he says, yep too much power. It had a 476 Cadillac motor in it and said it will s--t n git. He was tellin me some things about true Rat Rods, one being that they shouldn't cost more than $3,000.00 to build.

That guy was Mike's dad, Mike is the one that usually has the Henry J's there but this year brought the rat rod that was parked next to me, he said he has put 3000 miles on it so far this year and having a blast driving it. Mike has at least 5 Henry J's and now this Rat Rod that cost more than 3K.
