Chassis Prep
Everything is ripped off the front half of the Chassis and I plan to paint and primer it this weekend. What did you guys use to prep your chassis for paint? I was thinking some degreaser than hit it with the wire wheel and sand paper.....what do you think?

Simple green does a pretty good job. I also like oven cleaner, it works some pretty good magic, too.

I did simple green on my entire frame when I had the body off, then wire wheeled it all, then simple greened it again, then used a gallon of wax and grease remover to be certain there was nothing on the frame to wreck my finish prior to paint.

I'm about to be right there, too. Looks like I'll be getting som eSimple Green this weekend!

two days of grinding, sanding, degreasing with both oven cleaner and simple green I got the first coat of primer on...still a few small spots where you can slighly notice there was some grease left, but it still looks really good. Gong to start on the firewall this week and touch up some stuff on the chassis.

I've always found brake cleaner to be a very good degreaser before paint. Like was said before, be sure and degrease it again after the wire wheel, before final paint
