Oil Pressure Sending Switch

I don't think my engine has one. At least I could never find it. I don't have a gauge, just a light. Do you think I should install one? Anyone know where it's supposed to go?:)

I like to run both a light and a gauge. The same port that has the sending unit for the light can be used for both with the installation of a "tee" in the port.

Stock location, at least on a 70, is just above the oil filter. There are also oil galley ports on the back of the block above the bell housing, I've seen them used as well. I would hookup a light at the minimum. A gauge is nice put at least have the light working.

That's kind of what I was thinking Hank. Of course, I should have been thinking that while the motor was out when installing it would have been a lot easier. I'll see what I can do to get one installed.

Check over the oil filter as mentioned before. There should be some pipe plugs. That is where it is on my 72'.

I found the plug above the oil filter but there's no way it's coming out. At least not without pulling the motor and even then it's going to take some work. The square hole has been rounded out. I tried a few things but didn't have any luck. I'm going to risk running without one for at least the time being.

If you have a welder you can try welding a bolt to the plug. The heat from welding will loosen the plug and it may screw right out. Done that on more than one exhaust manifold bolt.

try the location on the top near the distributor.

On the side of the block or the rear?

Think he's talking about the rear of the block above the bell housing.
