Dash light and fuel indicator

Yesterday i noticed my dash light is not working. Can i change the bulbs without removing the dash and where are they located, has someone a pic of the 69 dash backside ?

the second problem is my fuel indicator. it allways looks like this.

is the sensor or the indicator damaged? is it possible to check the sending unit with a ohm meter?

You will have to pull out the cluster to change the bulbs, not a big deal. The sending unit could have a bad ground. If not, it needs to be replaced. PITA - only because you have to drop the tank. Otherwise - very straight forward.

thank you, i will try . only one thing what means PITA:confused: :D

You really have to pull the cluster on a 69 to change the bulbs? On a 70 pulling the cluster means removing the whole dash. You can get to the bulbs from below or remove the dash pad and go from above, either is a pain but a lot easier than pulling the whole dash.

As carpoor said check the ground on the sending unit in the gas tank. Should be a single wire coming from the top of the tank and screwed to the frame or body, can't remember which.

If you disconnect the sender wire at the tank the gauge should go up past F. If you ground the sender wire the gauge should go down below E. This will at least confirm that the gauge and wiring from the tank are OK. If that checks out OK then it's either the ground to the sender or the sender. What is gauge reading now?

Its not as bad on a 69' vs. the 70'-72' dashes.

sorry i thought it's possible to enlarge the pictures.
the gauge is reading now:

Looks like you don't have a good ground at the sending unit, start there.

today I tried to repair the things. The fuel indicator is working, it was bad ground. the dash light is not working, when im removing the switch, connecting a wire from Batterie + to the green cable and connect the bulbs to ground they work. I build it all together like it was, now my taillight is dark, the side marker lights are dark, didnīt noticed that bevore. could be the light switch damaged? Can i test it?
the wireplan I have confuses me, which of the light switch cables is +?
I want to connect the lights with a "wire bridge" so i can drive, because i have no chance to get the switch in germany.
