In GA you don't need a CCW permit to purchase and keep a handgun at home or inside any of your vehicles.
A simple, free background check is all that's required if the purchase is made from a dealer.
Private sales between individuals don't require anything other than proof of residency and a verbal statement that the buyer is legal to own a firearm.
But, I'd be glad to help you when your ready to purchase. In fact, I've got a variety for you to "sample".
