I am sure you are more than capable but I ended up with the same decision when attempting mine. I didn't want to cut the spare tire mount out of my trunk to get the bottom board to lay flat and while the finished products look fantastic, the actual usable space is very limited. I like to carry a set of tools on the shelf under the speakers and mine just wasn't working out like I had hoped.
