I've had a number of kidney stones. Sometimes the pain starts in the back, kidney area. Moves to the front or starts there and moves down and in towards the groin. If you didn't feel any of that it could have been a stone that formed in the bladder. Not as common but it does happen.

Guess you'll have to wait until they stuff a garden hose up there and look around.
