Default Good news on Chevelle

OK, I am really excited to let you guys know that after another 2 trips to NPD and dropping off more parts. It looks like I could get my Chevelle back as early as the end of this month. YEAH !!!

Car is looking good, seats are done, just need to put into car. The only things holding us up is waiting on the trim and finishing putting in the gauges into the dash.

Things are looking good...Now just have to decide on tires and rims. But that won't stop the car from coming home. Soon.

Nancy

I'll bet the waiting is really tough now.

I bet you are excited, I'm looking forward to seeing it. What dash did you end up going with? Maybe I missed it in another post.

I ended up going with the SS dash because I wanted the gauges in the dash not under the dash. We got a green dash for a Chevelle and did use some of the parts from the green one because they were in better condition.

Then today we were heading out to drop off a new hub for the steering wheel because I wanted the Rosewood wheel for a '69, and I needed the hub. I bought a new horn but I am having problems finding the rubber ring that goes under the steering wheel cap. Sometimes, hell most of the time, finding parts can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Whenever I am heading to my brothers shop we always call to see if he needs anything, so we called him today, mostly to see if we could bring him lunch. Well, he wanted something, and it wasn't lunch. My front bumper did not fit well, and so we made a detour and headed to C.A.R.S. and bought a new front bumper.

So now I sit here listening to the pouring rain outside thinking about bringing the car home. And do I want to put it into my old one car garage.

Hell, if it ain't one thing it's another. Will it ever end???

Nancy

Nope! But you will get it on the road and you will enjoy every minute of it.

Let me know where you found all the parts for the steering wheel. I have a saddle cushion grip wheel, same setup as the rosewood. If I ever have enough money, like that's going to happen, I'll get the parts I need to install it. You have everything you need know for the dash? You said you got a green dash and you used some of the parts from the green dash, what do you mean?

Getting down to the nitty gritty stuff. Steering wheel has been a pain in my a**. Finally decided on the Rosewood, and bought every part available to install it. Ironically enough, today we realized that my initial purchase of an installation kit was all I needed. So another few items to take back to NPD. All the little tie down pieces for under the hood.

Even so, with every passing day the car gets closer and closer to being done. Took some pics today of motor. Will try to post them later.

Have a great day,
Nancy
