Default 1698 Malibu emblems

I have a 68 malibu that i am getting ready to sent off to paint. My question is about the trunk and fender chevelle/malibu badges. i have brand new fenders w/o holes for the malibu badges, and the trunk lid also does not have holes to mount the chevelle badge. Do re-pop emblems come with the factory type studs or are they meant to be glued on. should i drill holes for the badges before paint or is there an effective way to glue them on? This is the first full restoration ive done so I am learning as i go. Thanks for the help.

They come with studs. Definately make the holes before paint. Trunk has no chevelle emblem. It is between the tail lights on the right side.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if there is a pattern available online that shows the exact hole placement?

Mine is a factory malibu. Your lucky I never painted in the trunk yet because the holes are gone. But i can still see them inside.
They are measured from inside the trunk. 1 5/8 up all of them. From the right side tailight side. The metal is shaped as in the crude representation. Starting at the marked center of the curve over. 3 1/2 6 1/2 9 inches.
