Default 67 - Trunk lid

The trunk lid on my 67 sits too high allowing water in when I wash the car or it rains. Are there any adjustments that can be made on the trunk lid?

Thanks.

I always had problems with leaks on my 72. I don't think that it ever sat too high, not really positive. I do know that we searched for the right trunk seal, one that was a little thicker AND we made sure that the drain lines, one on each side, were not clogged with leaves. Even then I still replaced them and since then....haven't had a water problem.

Sounds like a new gasket is the best starting point. Thanks.

If you want to lower the rear deck lid, to get it tighter against the weather striping, you have to put a shim between the deck lid and the hinge, on the rear bolt. To raise the lid you put shims on the front bolt.

Also is the problem in the rear of the deck lid or at the front. If the front is up then you need to adjust the latch catch down on the car to lower the front of the deck lid.
