Congrats, looks like it's a 4x4 sitting that high. Lol
Looks like a solid car. So whats the plan for it?

I wish we had decent bodies like that around here. Looks pretty good. It will make a nice COPO clone.

Ray, it has no engine or trans in it... hence the "altitude." Plus, some dork put goofy rear shocks with coil springs in the rear. I was originally thinking COPO clone, now I am leaning towards a Factory Appearing L89 SS 396 build. I started to weigh the costs, and think the L89 would be more bang for the buck.

Tony, wish I could have stopped by your place today. Got a late start due to the rain, didn't get back home until almost 6pm tonight. Funny thing about the clean body, this car is from Wisconsin. Last registered in 1978, 67K documented miles. It is a real deal, "barn find."

My only concern is the trim tag, it's not there. It appears as if someone removed it to clean underneath it. Hope I can find it in the car somewhere. The VIN is intact, and the title is legit/clean. If I can't find the tag, does anyone make new trim tags? I wouldn't want anything that didn't reflect what the car wasn't. Just a replacement for what isn't there.

Any thoughts on the paint color? I am thinking it is code 55 - Azure Turquiose. I looked at some pictures of cars on Dale's site, and I think that is the color it most resembles.

That really looks solid and before you trash those shocks let me know if they are still good .I need something under my El Camino as the air shocks leak (have since I put them on) and the Gaylord cover on back weighs it down .I have even considered air bags in the coils but would be willing to try coilover shocks.

I knew it didn't have an engine in it, the just look funny when they don't.

Azure Turquiose is a great choice

or Monaco Orange

John, those rear shocks are yours if you want them - free. Try them, if they work - great. If not, pitch them in the scrap pile. lol

Ray, I am going to try and get some paint chips to try and figure out what the color is. The paint is perfect on the underside of the deck lid. Should be a great spot to try and match up.

You would be correct on the paint code 55 if it is Azure Turquiose, also there is someone out there that does make the trim tag.

Thanks Tony! That helps a bunch.

I looked for a build sheet today, no luck. All I found were mouse nests in the headliner and in behind the arm rest bases.

Took more pictures to try and show the color of the car. I am almost convinced it is Azure Turquise. Am I color blind? I know it's hard to make a 100% judgement call based on pictures.

And the axle code jives with what I found when I popped the cover...

And Ray, great news... all I need is a front seat! He didn't toss the rear like he thought he did, just the front bench. He did strip one half of the rear seat to the frame though. Also, he gave me a near mint core support. The original is pretty rough. Queston, do the 69' dashes unbolt? Or are they welded in? The lower right corner of mine is rotted off. I'd rather find a donor than have to waste time patching the one in the car.
