Let me tell you, that lift is a game changer. I don't know how I have lived without one for so long. It is going to make building the exhaust system a lot less of a chore.

Went over after work today and installed some DEI heat barrier. The factory insulation had fallen apart and was saturated with oil. My knees were killing me after crouching in the engine bay. So I called it quits after I finished the firewall.

It's looking good in there ,I cant wait to be able to do something ,ANYTHING , I even had my wife ask the Dr yesterday if I could do light house work ,they said NO ,not til they say so. All I can do is walk and Im doing that but it gets boring by myself. I am still driving my 72 Chevy truck though as the Indy truck is in the bodyshop ,or at the shop waiting it's turn for some touch up.

Hey John so glad to hear that at least you can drive your truck. Just be patient, it takes a little longer for the healing process as we get older. I am sure that Joan is looking forward to the day when you can help around the house too. lol

Engine and transmission are in finally. The heat proved to be too much for me around mid day. Hoping to complete more tomorrow morning.

Installed the headers and got the exhaust system mostly figured out. Need to finish welding it up tomorrow and hang the tailpipe.

I just rebuilt the vans rear end again. New gears and bearings axles. I did it a long time ago but didn't have the right tools for it. inch/lb torque wrench mainly. 100 thousand and it was singing again
Wow axles are really picky on the bearing preload. 3-4 inch/lbs makes the difference between silent practically and a hum. Anywho it is quiet now and I 80 miles in on the break in proceedure. I am getting better at it. Should be this is my third one now. I can see why nobody wants to do this except for them selves. it is alot of work. Put it in take it out rinse repeat LOL |

Exhaust system is pretty much done, and I dragged the stepside bed into the shop. Time to get the body work done and get some paint on it.
