I've considered doing the same with my 72. Only thing I found was very expensive.

I wouldn't recommend it. There's not really anything to be gained, and there's a whole lot of geometry that can be messed up if not done exactly right.

A good quick-ratio steering box and rebuilt linkages will feel and perform just as well as any R&P.

I'd recommend doing the Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box swap for a good low-cost upgrade with excellent performance. I'd put it at about 90% as good of upgrade as one of those $1800 rack kits, and can be done for about $80-100.

The reason I was thinking about a rack set up was so I could take some of the weight off the front and also to modernize it some.

Does the jeep steering box really make that much difference ? Can ya'll that have done this give us a complete parts list needed and explain the difference in feel from stock to the jeep box as well ? Does it just make it tighter or what ? I have read about others doing this but never the real reason for it.
