new member and already a question
I apologize in advance for not doing an introduction first but I am looking to buy a 67 SS Chevelle and up on the lift there is an unknown part I have never seen before..Battery cable running to and from it. Does anyone know what this thing is? TIA

There is nothing above it that I can feel..maybe a small fastener between the carpet and floor pan but I can't feel it. No marking that I can see on whatever it is . Someone went to the trouble of installing it but no idea why...would appreciate any ideas..thanks!!

I am sure I want the car...seems especially cold natured for a carb car even in 50 degrees here..when warm it runs awesome..

It looks like a hidden battery disconnect. What does the seller say?

I thought it was a disconnect too and may very well be but I don't see how to work it. The seller has no idea either..
Thank you for the reply! Larry |

So there is no handle under the passenger seat?
How many wires go to it? Just the two large ones or is there also a small gauge wire we can’t see in the pic? |

I pulled the carpet back and looks like you guys were right!
It is a battery disconnect but someone removed the handle and carpeted over the mounting screws. LOL Thanks for caring enough to reply help Larry |
