Welcome Dan and Deb to the site from another 70 owner. Sounds like a nice solid car to start with and youhave the skills to make it very nice car again.

Car sounds very cool! Do the '70 base model cars have unique door panels and seat upholstery like the earlier ones had? If so, DON'T THROW ANY OF IT AWAY. It's cheaper to replace with Malibu stuff, but that base-model stuff is really hard to find.
