Default Need a Radio

In my 70 I have a "CustomAutoSound USA1" radio with cassette player. Sounds like in the dash only the passenger side speaker is working (don't even know if it has a drivers side one) and a new set of 6x9 Pioneer 250W rear speakers under the package tray.

The system sounds like crap and I'm looking for something new. I don't want to cut up the dash and if I mount something under the dash it might be kinda hard because my gauges are down there and I don't want to move them. I'm open for suggestions that wont break the bank. What do ya'll suggest??

Took out the new set of Pioneer 6"x9" 250W # TS-G6943R speakers and installed Sondpex replacement ones and it does sound a little better. I don't think the radio has enough to power the Pioneers. I just ordered the speaker covers that go under the package tray and hopefully it will absorb the tinny sound. I'm thinkin I probably need a amp to get better sound, but we'll see.

Still I think I'll get a new radio, maybe from Retro-sound.

Well I went ahead and ordered a radio from RetroSound. It has hookups for both iPod/MP3 player and USB for a flashdrive. It looks almost like stock and fits right in the dash.

Looks like you will have music again in your car. I never turn mine on when driving the chevelle. Like the rumble sound I guess. Lol

I got the radio (Retrosound Hermosa) installed yesterday and boy what a difference over the Custom Autosound USA-1 radio. This has 15 FM stations to pre set and 10 AM stations. Has Bluetooth, 2 out and 2 in jacks for a Amp (if I need one), 2 more jacks for CD player or Sirus, also has a USB hookup.

Need a damn college degree to operate the krazy thing...........but I'm getting there.

Need to find out how and where to download music so I can put it on a Flashdrive.....anyone know some easy way of doing it?

Oh yeah, I put those under package tray speaker covers on and they helped. Now the sound comes inside rather than into the trunk.

Hi Ken, I have a Retrosound in my car too. They didn't offer the bluetooth when I bought mine wish they did I would have gotten it. Yeah you have to have a college education to figure it out but it's just like everything else that's new to us. It seems to me that the sound seems better when you use the USB compared to the radio itself. I have to admit since I finally got the car on the road I rather listen to the exhaust sound than the radio.
