Default Another go faster question

I am currently running low 13's and am looking to break in to the high 12's.

69 350 block, 4-bolt mains bored 60 over, Comp cam XE268
just under 10 compression
Summit cast iron heads 1.6/2.02 72cc, 165 intake
heads have been worked and port matched to intake
heads have comp roller rockers 1.6
Performer RPM Air Gap
Holley 670SA
Mallory Unilite ignition
Headers, 2.5 inch pipes, 2-chamber muffler
TH350 with B&M Transpack, 2400 stall convertor, launch at 2000
10-bolt with Eaton posi and 3.73 gears
26" slicks
This is a daily driver, camper haulin and grandson totin race car. I know I can't have everything but want it anyway. I cross the finish line at 4600rpm but not really willing to go steeper in the rear gears. Would love to get an overdrive with the lower first gear but that is a $2000 swap. Am looking at the Lunato Voodoo 60103 or 60104 cam.

There is the challenge. Thanks for looking.

Good Luck Darren. But I would probably go with the rear gears first. But I am sure that someone will come up with some good ideas for you.

What kind of sixty foot times does it run? I think looser converter will get you where you want to be.

I am already at about 3100rpm on the freeway at 70mph so "just" putting in the 4.11 gears would make those 2 hour drives almost impossible.

My 60' times are usually about 1.90.

A plate kit with a 100 pill!

It will flash the converter higher and get that 60' down (if your suspension is working.) If you spin at all, you need to figure that out first.

Will a 50 pill do it? I haven't had any problems hooking up for a while now. I have adjustable rear upper control arms, boxed stock lower control arms, anti-sway bar and air shocks each with their own line both at 60lbs.

Hard to say, but maybe. You can typically count on each tenth you cut your 60' to double on the big end. So if you can drop a 1.9 to a 1.8 you may pick up around 2 tenths ET. Have you tried to leave at idle and hit the converter harder? Might help leave a little better than loading the suspension up, unless you have a transbrake.

Any nitrous 50-150hp will help get the car moving if you leave on the full kit (not talking about enough to worry about a progressive.) Good thing with only 50 is that you probably don't need to touch or worry about your fuel system. Maybe just a degree of timing or two, if that. Just make sure you know and confirm your timing and tune-up each time you go out, don't want to run too much timing and/or lean!

Put the car on a diet at the track.

That's soft for bottom 13's. I honestly feel a looser converter would net you .2 in the sixty foot and .3 -.4 at the stripe.
