Default Ice, Ice, Baby !

In Michigan we have watched the lake levels decrease especially with the warmer summers and shorter winters we had experienced until this year. Mother nature has taken out her anger on many of us all over. The coast guard has been busy freeing boats stuck in the ice on the great lakes. Let's just hope that with all the snow and ice we received this year that the lake levels will increase, not just for us, but for all the states especially those who have experienced major droughts.

I heard they were frozen over 88 percent. The worst year was in 1994 where they froze over 94 percent.

I hope that all this snow takes a while to melt. If not, I'm going to have me a flooding problem here. The Great Lakes last froze this bad in 1979.

Lake Erie freezes over almost every winter...the most shallow of the Great Lakes.
Lake Ontario will never completely freeze...too deep.
