Default Speedometer Cable Extension

I would like to remove the Cruise Control from my 1972 Chevelle wagon. Pretty simple except the speedometer cable. It comes from the transmission to the cruise unit and a second cable goes from the cruse unit to the dash. I would like to avoid replacing the current cables with one for a non cruse car (longer cable - but I must attach it under the dash and cannot even see it. Does anyone know if a cable extension is available?

I have not either, unless a newer model car has one that might work.

I haven't heard of one. It's not easy but you can remove and replace the one going to the speedo. There is a spring loaded clip on the back of the speedo. Push on it and you can pull the cable out. You'll have to do it by feel but it can be done.

Thanks Guys - It sounds like I have to swap it for a non cruise car cable...
