Unfortunately no such thing. Even with newer cars, you really can't always just rely on Carfax. It's always best to take someone with you who is knowledgeable on finding evidence of previous bodywork, rust ect. Also have a good mechanic inspect any car you are considering buying. And of course, we are always here to help.

The short vin numbers on the older cars don't work on car fax. And with the new laws you can't go to DMV and get any info anymore

Yep I am finding out the hard way. Purchased my 67 From Theil Motors Inc in Iowa, they really screwed me over, I live in Texas, learning the hard way to never trust what you read, an advertised show car, an 8 on a scale of one to 10 turned out to be a 1, in the middle of a law suit, trying to gain as much info as I can... thanks again for the help

Sorry to hear about your bad experence. I learned the hard way also about eight years ago. Never buy a car without going to look at it first. Hope all works out for you.

mprat so sorry to hear about your troubles. Like Mike said, we are here to help if we can. If you find out any way to find out the information you are looking for, please let us know so that we can pass it on to the next person who may be in your situation. Because we all know there are a lot of shady people out there, I am just sorry that you got taken by one. I hope that you are successful in your lawsuit.
Can you post some pics so others know what you found and what to look for.
