Default One piece Floor pan

I just picked up my floor pan & have all the old rotted floors cut out. Originally I had the 2 half floor section pans but I later decided to go with the one piece because my trans tunnels was rotted & badly cut up from the last owners crappy floor shift hack job.My rockers & floor braces were in good shape so I'll just be replacing the pan. My question is, do I remove the braces & come up from the bottom with the pan & then replace the braces?Do I slide the pans under the rockers & if so how since the pan is so large? My pics show the floors cut out & braces in tact. If any 1 has installed the one piece pan, I'd love some advice because I'd like to start putting them in this weekend. Thanks

no real experience with it but i can tell you this DON'T REMOVE THE BRACES! reason being is if you remove the braces the car can twist on you and the car will be out of square. i would slide it over one of the braces or even in the windows and go from there but dont take those braces off once you remove then the car will flex and might not get it back into square from there. remember 50 years old and its use to all the support.!

Any cross bracing you can do will help before you take the floor pan out. Even with the braces in thing can move if they are in bad shape.

The braces are good but the pan is to big to fit threw the window & the only logical way I can see to get this pan in the car is by pushing it up from underneath the car but in order to do that the braces will have to be removed. I can't find anything on the net other than install from the bottom. Idk. I'd like to do it myself but may have to let my body guy tackle this. I also have the one piece trunk pan but that's a lot easier to fit & it has all the braces already welded to it.

I believe the the one piece will not include the toeboard. If your in the boat of needing to replace an entire floor chances are sections of your toe boards are toast as well.

Thanks Ray, I have the toe boards also, I origally had the 2 half floor pan sections but my trans tunnel was bad from the previous owner doing a hack job on the trans tunnel. I'm dealing with a local vendor just 40 miles from my house & he's great. I told him my situation & showed him pics. I was gonna return them & order toe board but he told me to keep the 1/2's since they came with the toe board & let me get them @ toe board price & placed the difference on the one piece pan. The vendor is Gateway muscle & he's a vendor for dynacorn

I would weld X braces in the door jambs, and inside the main body to keep it square. Then remove a brace or two to get it to fit. You may need the braces out anyway to get the floor pan to set down in the body and fit exactly how you want it to. My father did a one-piece pan in a 71' SS 454 car he had about 10 years ago. I'll have to call him and ask how he went about it. I do remember him bracing the car up before even removing the old, rotted floor pans though. And he did not remove the bracing until the floors were completely installed.

Just my $0.10 - I'll post when I get an answer from him later today.

Yeah this things given me hell. I figured Id cut & replace the front pan section since under the rear seat is solid. The front section will slide under the rockers but the rest of the pan has a lip facing down so I can't figure how to sit the pan flush. The lip sets downward & the rear seat section wont sit flat enough. Idk what to do 0. Is the front section suppose to slide under the rocker & bend the lip up in the rear & plug weld? Ugggh
