Post 64 Interior Project

After years of drag racing and sitting in the backyard with no protection here in Arizona my chevelle's interior is in dire need of a makeover so I'm starting to clean it all up.

As you can see it's a wreck! LOL

First thing I did was remove the gauge cluster bezel.

I then cut the center out of the bezel since it was pretty cut up already.

I laid the bezel down on a clean piece of lexan so the backside would be nice and flat and not stick and then started fiberglassing the center into the sides.

I then sanded it all down flat

I sprayed the entire bezel with a grey textured paint and then clear coated it.

The next step was to do something about the metal dash in the car so I sanded it all down, filled in any holes that were drilled into it and started spraying it with Dupli-Color's Fast drying spray Lacquer.

After about 4 coats of color I wetsanded the paint down and applied another color coat and a few coats of clear.

I then used 3M's rubbing compound and polished the dash off to a fine luster. Here's how it all turned out.

I still need to finish the glove box door. I've got it painted, but not clear coated and polished as of yet.

I finished up the glove box door today. I mounted the bezel, but I need to order a new one. This one has 2 of the 4 mounting posts on the backside broken off.
