Rear seat should be 58" I believe. The 69 if I remember correctly did not use a filler panel like 70, the arm rest with the ash tray was mounted to the rear side panel.

What 68 hard top?

Buick and olds used a filler panel and Chevelle did not.

Some info I found

All 68/69 rear seats are not the same for hardtops. Only the ones with Olds or Buick seat covers were the same. If used in a Chevelle and came with either an Olds or a Buick seat cover, that seat is the narrower seat that was really an Olds or Buick application. I understand this may get confusing. 68/69 two door Chevelle had 3 different seats, The Wider Chevelle seat, the narrower Olds/ Buick seat and the convertible seat. To make things a little more complicated

307 should not matter, this is a 69 SS back seat.

Ray had posted this information from an earlier post "rear seat question". Maybe these measurements will help.

This is from your other post earlier

68-69 rear seats are 58",
70-72 coupes are 54.5", 70 to 72 use a filler panel in the back that the ash tray sits in.
68-72 convertibles are 52".

I can't tell you how many times I was told the part was for a 70 and it was not. I feel your pain.

Need to make a correction to that. I was told wrong by a friend

Coupes for 70-72 are 52"
Convertibles are 48"

I checked my 70 and it is 52"

Coupe seats, and the pictures I saw they are out of a 70 with the pattern on them.
