Default 1970 chevelle buckets side bolsters

I am in the process of recovering my bucket seats and was wondering if any of you have had experience putting the listing rods in the sleeves of seat covers and connecting it down to the listing rod on the seat springs. I purchased new foam but it came and they do not have the slots in the foam so I am going to make the slot my self. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

The foam I used was from ACI, American Cushion Industries. I know that TMI products sells the foam with the listing wire are ready in the foam. Other foams from some of the other vendors is to hard from my experence.

I reused the original foam in my seats, it was in good shape. I bought some 1/8" steel rods at HD. I used one piece to make a T handle hook to push from the bottom, through the foam and around the rod in the seat cover and pull it down. The bottom of the front buckets was definitely the hardest piece to do, especially trying to get the wrinkles out.

Check your old foam if you have it. You'll probably want to slit the foam about halfway through. Then push your hook through from the bottom, may have to cut it open to get the rod through.
