327 Cast Numbers
Have one of those fun one's. So its a 327 65 or 66 corvette motor or ? So many different sites have conflicting info.. I have a idea what it is but would it be better to sell it to a Corvette owner or a Chevelle owner..LOL or keep it and put in my T-Bucket
SInce I am putting a 400ci in my 1966 Chevelle I am selling this beauty HELP.. Block # 3858174 Date code= H25 so Aug. 1965 Pad # F09I4HF so Flint Sept 14, 1965 Heads 3795896 C184 Ex. Manifold, RH 3747042 Intake Manifold 3886677 ? Quad Jet. This has been sitting for 10 years so it will need to be rebuilt but I was told it was out of a 1966 Corvette with 56,000 miles that had a rear end accident. The "HF" stamped on the engine pad does correspond to a 65' 300 HP Corvette. The head castings escape me... should end in 462. The head casting number you posted is for a low performance 2bbl head with tiny 1.72I/1.50E valves. The exhaust manifold casting number looks correct. The intake manifold - I came up empty handed.

Thanks and that's my confusion..LOL I know people change things threw the years but this engine doesn't have a vin# stamp so it could have been a replacement for a bad motor in 1965 or 66..I am going to get better picture's of the manifold just to see... |
