Default Chevy Starters

All Chevrolet starters will fit Small Block & Big Blocks. Speaking of 69-72. B.B. & S.B. starters. All starters are" NOT " the same.
The 69-72 350 & 396-454 Starters are different than ALL other Chevy starters. Example an 8418-1970 starter is for a 350 or a B.B. Big block starters have a different armature//different fields//different solenoid.( The HI. PERF. solenoid, Has the short housing and the weak spring inside).
Some parts places will sell you a " REBUILT " starter for your big block. At times when it is hot you may have starting issues.
Get the right & correct starter and you will have one less problem.

Thanks for the tip. I'm still using the old BB starter on my 70 but if I ever have to replace it your post will come in handy.
