Took 6 months off on this project. Really havent work much on it since March. To many projects at the home front to deal with this last summer. Got the fireplace installed on friday, finally have real heat in the house- been over 5 years. Been using electric heaters. Still need ceilings sheet rocked to contain the heat, but at least I can keep the house warm to work on it this winter.

Working on the walls where the stailr case goes in. Should be able to prime the walls next weekend and start the stair case build. Still need to cut the floor joists out of the ceiling area to make room for the stairs.

All the work myself, unless I can talk someone to come down and help for a day.

I hate drywall, all the patching and sanding. Your place is going to be pretty nice when you're done.

Spent the last 3 1/2 days on the project. Still trying to get the stairwell and walls up.

New stair well opening

New opening for upstairs room

New wall with window to allow light in

Finally the first flight of stairs going in.

Still a ways to go, but moving ahead. Hope to be in sheet rock mode by March.

Happy New year everyone.

Looking good Ray. It's harder to make progress when the place is away from home. Can't do a little each day, have to do as much as you can while you're there. Had that situation when we had a vacation home, always a project waiting for us when we got there.
