Body bushings
I have a 69 chevelle running tall spindals with 2inch drop and 2inch drop springs. i want to get alittle lower and am currently workiing on a new frame narrowing or notching the rear to fit 335's. i was thinking about removing the body bushings and replacing them with a few washers welded to the frame. i understand i would have to deal with trans tunnel, plumming and steering shaft clearances. just wondering if anyone has ever lowered a car this way. i started out looking for a soild bushing 1/4 or 1/2 the size had no luck but figured i could achieve the same results with the welded washers. any thoughts or suggestions? thanks Joe

.
I made my own body bushing, for my jeep, from this http://store.hamiltonmarine.com/brow...3-/4,8514.html . Its a very common mod on the jeepster board. The roller is very easy to work with and can be cut to any length you like. My Jeep has been sitting on the ones I made for the past 4 years and is rock solid.
