Default Question

I remember at least I think I do of a Z16 top of dash clock that sold on ebay for like five grand.

Does anyone remember this or have any information about it?

I have a friend that has one he is going to sell and I had some stuff saved when it was listed but lost it after a hd crash and reformat.

Thanks

I remember the radiator.

IIRC, I don't remember what exactly there was about it that made it special to a Z16.

I know they are high priced, but they are NOT Z-16 specific (the clocks). $5k for the clock (even NOS) just seems completely outrageous... ANY '65 SS with a factory tach should have the dash-top clock ( Pretty sure the clock was a standard feature of the Malibu/Malibu SS?).

Oddly, with the original clocks being so expensive and dificult to find, there are no plans for a repro. Even though it should be cheap/easy to do, look at all the other "replacement" guages and tachs, and even colsole clocks that are available now...

I'd LOVE to get one for my '66 ( pretty much the same as '65) as I have dash guages but no console... But I won't pay some ridiculous price for one...

I'm not seeing this as ridiculous, considering the fact that LS6 dual snorkel air cleaner assemblies on ebay...the REAL ones...go for more than 5 grand.

I understand some NOS parts are unobtainium. But when it comes to building the cars we love I'm not a purist. I also know there are many who are and are willing to shell out the cash.
