Default 355 w/vortec heads, AC re-install

First off, hello members...no section for AC so ill post here.

I am trying to figure out how to re-install the AC in the '72 chevelle since my engine swap, A/C worked fine before the swap, the new engine is a 355 with vortec heads from blueprintengines

I do have the original unit and everything was left in place to hook up the AC again. I have conflicting info from two different mechanics.

I was originaly told by the guy who did the new engine/tranny install that the previous genreration Camaro IROC came with the same heads and AC unit that i have, so all that wolud be needed was to locate a mounting bracket.
I have also been told that GM changed to a different style AC unit and that the only way to use my current AC unit is to have a bracket made.

- Could anyone comment on this and let me know if the info above is true, if so all i would need is a bracket (from where?)

or should i just upgrade to the 134a Sanden kit below?

So your trying to use an older style compressor on a newer head setup? Have you checked summitracing for different a/c brackets? They might have what your looking for. You may also be able to just swap your compressor out to the newer factory compressor and use it's mounting brackets.
