Default Project Chevelle

Me and my dad are redoing a 1972 Chevelle malibu for me when I turn 16, almost 15 and have been looking for a muscle car forever and finally found a 72 Chevelle in a field by my house for $400. It had been sitting there since 1985. We got it then stripped it down and we have got the trunk floor, bumper support, inner wheel housings, trunk drop-offs, and the floor pans and are waiting for the quarter panels. It is going to be red with black rally stripes, black interior with red stitching to match the paint. A 1970 front end, with a 454, and a four or five speed. Here are some pictures:

That looks like a big project ahead of you. I think I would check out that frame first since it looks like it might be bent. You need a straight frame before you start to hanging any body panels. Also if you go with 70 front end then you will have to redo the wiring harness on it for the front since 70 is 2 headlights and not 1.

Yeah, we saw the bent frame and we got it fixed, it looked worse then it was. I'll try to post as many pictures as I can, I want to be able to look back and say, "I built that" and show it.

Oh, I forgot to put in the original post that we think it was my aunts car when it was new and after that gave it to my dads mom (My grandma) and we don't know what happened to it but it was a 350, bench seat, with saddle interior, and brown exterior. I kinda thought it was funny that it has less miles then my moms 3yr old car, hers has 110,000 and mine has 96,000.

Do you know what original colors this one is? You can tell by the cowl tag and maybe it is your grandmas car.

That is going to be more than one hell of a project! It will be great to see the pictures as this rebuild progresses. Nothing better than to see new life given to what was once a great car!

Best of luck to you! Just take it one step at a time and you'll be amazed how fast things come together.
