Starting Point
OK, so I have retired, had a minor heart attack right after, but now it is time to learn how to work on the car. My car is in decent condition but there are several things I would like to improve. Is there a good "how to" book or is the forum the best place for advice. Two small jobs I want to start with are antenna replacement and clock repair. Thanks.

There are many knowledgeable people here. If you ask a specific question about anything you need help with I am sure someone will respond with help or where to find the answer.

Ms. Grumpy,
Thanks. I have a few manualss, but they seem to rely on pictures and no written details. I thought the forum members would be the best source. |

The antenna sounds pretty easy depending on what year Chevelle you have .Tell us about your car and show us some pics .
And WELCOME .

Al sounds like you just need some step by step instructions, and hints, to go along with your pictures. So ask away.

Like Flash said, we need to know what year. Antenna shouldn't be too tough, unless it's a 70-72 with windshield antenna. Clock repair? Do you mean repair or replace? Repairing a clock is a pretty intricate job that most people aren't capable of.

Sorry for the delay. The Chevelle is a 67. I haven't figured out how to get to the fender opening from inside the car. Do you have to remove the inside wheel well to get access? Thank you to everyone.

I don't have a 67, wish I did, but I believe you do have to remove the inner fender. Antenna is probably up behind the hood hinge area. You would need to remove the hood and fender or remove the inner fender. I know on a 70 the inner can be R&R without too much hassle.

Hank,
Thanks. I figured the inner fender was a good starting point. |
