Default New Chevelle owner from SoCal

How is everyone doing?

My name is Nick. I live is San Diego. And just recently bought a 1967 Chevelle. Sadly every time I take something apart I find more destruction but that is just fine. When you have 50 year old steel it tends to be a little rusty.

My very first car was a 1972 Malibu 4 door with a 350. I spent three months looking for a Chevelle and I tell you what 70-72 Chevelles are not as easy to come by as they once were.

I ended up finding a 1967 Chevelle with a 383. The car was mostly disassembled and is now in my drive way with the body off an no floor pans. I have new floor pans which are about to go back in. They defiantly do not go in as easy as i thought they would.

Nice to join you all.

It looks so promising doesn't it.

DON'T BE FOOLED LIKE I WAS!!!!
Talk to you soon.

Welcome! I bought a '72 Malibu Convertible about 1 1/2 years ago. Mine had a lot of solid steel but that was about it. I'm in the process of putting it back together. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Spent the whole day grinding out rust from behind the new metal someone welded over the rust. I am pretty sure the entire bottom eighth of my car is completely rusted out and patched over.

Wow you found my old 65 4 dr chevelle. I had the gas tank in the trunk because it fell off when i filled it. Cop pulled me over and said I can't put my finger on it something looks wrong. Then he smiled real big and said Ah-Ha where is the gas tank.
I talked my way out of it he was going to impound it. I told him was driving it to my El Camino from where I bought it. I only wanted the engine from it. It was partly true. I just intended to drive it a while first.

Car was a mess stop sign for a floor. Looked perfect bodywise just the floorboards were wasted from being parked in high grass all the time.

Welcome Nick. 72 Malibu here. I agree that it is getting harder and harder to find reasonably priced Chevelles and Malibus. We look forward to watching your build.
