Default Breaks

Put new booster and master cylinder on my 68 chevelle and had hard pedal. Front disc pads would not release. Found out if I put 2 washer between master cylinder and booster breaks work great. what happens if I leave the washers there instead of shorting the rod.

Leaving washers between master cylinder and booster will allow moisture and dirt into booster. That may not do any damage for a long time, but I would correct the problem to preserve the new parts. you probably need to shorten the adjustable rod between the pedal and booster, which can be fine tuned with everything bolted up.
