Default 1964 Chevelle LS1 w/T56 build

Hey gang! I haven't been around much, but I have been enjoying my chevelle very much. The only problem I have is that I want to drive the car more and more and it's still not exactly a street friendly car.

Sooooooooooo

I've takin the plunge and decided to go LS this year.

I picked up a 5.3 a couple weeks ago. I'm going to toss in a cam and ls6 intake for now and enjoy it.

I also found a LS based T-56 transmission in San Diego last weekend so I took the whole family on a 6 hour road trip. We spent the day on the beach and then picked up my new trans and drove home.

I will be sure to keep you all updated.

Here's a couple pics of the motor I picked and trans I just picked up. =)

And the trans I've been wanting for years! =)

It's always nice when you can make a day with the family to pick up parts....it's like a little bribe.

Well plans have changed slightly. After flipping over the 5.3 and checking the casting number on the crank I discovered that it's a 4.8 motor. I re-listed the motor on craigslist and sold it as a 4.8. The good news is that I picked up a 2002 camaro LS1 complete that I will now be dropping into the car.

And Hello my Darling! LOL

First thing I had to do was strip off the harness, a/c compressor and alternator.

I used a set of Dirty Dingo motor mount adapters.

And I dropped the motor into place to see what kind of issues I was going to have.

The pan was hitting the crossmember on the corners and I could not get it to sit back at the correct angle so I pulled it back out and notched my crossmember and rewelded it.

And now she sits in there beautifully with no problems.

Next I will be test fitting the T-56

To be continued. =)

Yes I can't wait for the completion! 400hp and an average of 20mpg is going to be unbelievable.

Like the set up. Going to be one fast car when you are finished.
