I got the true track in my van. It hasn't given me any problems. Gas it and it locked solid.
As for the gear I got a 3.73 in mine. But to see if you can deal with it. Drive a truck or some GM RWD with a 750R4 or a 4L60E and keep it in 3rd gear. My durango is the same gearing. That is a 373ish gear and give you a idea. I had a 3.73 in my impala SS on the freeway at 65 it about 3 grand. So for short jumps it is great. Drive 45 minutes to work everyday it needs to be a little taller. But over all it is a great gear in my opinion. Can always get a OD later which is my plan. |

Just a quick note.
The 78 Z28 came from the factory with 3.42 gears for the TH350 trans And 3.73 gears for the 4 speed manual. I owned one with the th350 and it tach 3000rpm at 70mph with 255/60/15 BFG radials Apparently GM thought 3 grand was fine for long trips with a stock motor. |
