Default My Other Toy (Besides the Chevelle)

Took a couple pics of my restored '71 4x4 1/2t along with couple pics of the Chevelle. Not the best pics as it was cloudy and overcast, started raining about 30 minutes after the pictures were taken. But by then both toys were back in the 35 x50 playhouse.

Thanks for the kind remarks. When I first got the 4x4 it was really a rusted out POS. Replaced ALL the major body panels with the exception of the cab itself. The tailgate is a re-pop I bought from GMCPaul in Indiana I believe it is. Plain, smooth gate with no CHEVROLET stamped into it. Really kinda like the plain, smooth look to it. All the other sheetmetal is scrounged up GM from swap meets, salvage yards, etc. GM rocker panels and NOS window regulators. Just recently swapped out the sm465 granny 4 speed for a 350TH auto. Getting old and bad knees vrs. a clutch kinda sucks.

Don't really have good pics of just the building but here's a couple more.
35 x50 with 9 x 10 roll up doors opposite each other at both ends, 5" poured floor. Double stacked 55 gal. barrel stove for heat since no gas piped in. Works great with a oscillating fan behind it to move the heated air.

flash, if you recall buying some 5 lug truck rally wheel caps off of a 67-72 truck board that was me, Ironhorse user ID.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does a building like that run? I am seriously looking into buying land, and plopping a building like that on it. Then converting a small, portion of it into living space. A 30X50, or 40X60 seems like it would fit the bill. I only need a one bedroom apartment for me, the rest would be for cars and work space.

Given for the fact I put the building up about 5 years ago, the building itself, just the steel, was just over $9,500. Concrete and steel reinforcement was about $6,500+ and lumber and siding about another $2,000. 9 x 10 ft rollup doors another $1,000. Total 5 years ago approximately $18-$19 thousand. I'm sure the building along with concrete and steel reinforcement, wire and bar have all gone up. I have my '71 4x4 truck, '71 Chevelle and a '86 Monte Carlo Luxury Sport inside. Also gas/acetyline cart, 16 horse Lincoln arc welder/generator, 48" ZTR, pushmower, work bench, beer fridge, floor jack (2) and tool boxes. 35 x 50 isn't big enough but have to make it work. If wanting a living space, definetly you would want a 40 x 60 I would think.

Thanks for the break down, I am guessing today's prices... around $60 a square foot - doing as much as possible myself. (And with some help from a few of my friends)

I am hoping to do it all for under $100K.
