My setup, more "Pro-Touring" than drag...

17" drag radials, Nitto 555r, 275/40/17 (on the front too), Eibach lowering springs, KYB shocks, 427 small block, AFR heads, Comp "nitrous" grind cam (but NO nitrous, so might be hurting the combo), Edelbrock carb, $89 Summit HEI distrib/coil, RPM Airgap intake, TH400 ( 2200+ stall?), 3.70 gears (9" with a detroit locker).

Best pass was 12.34 at about 110 MPH... 1.7 60ft.

Hot lapping (4 runs in 15+ minutes, with best coming 3rd or 4th run)
and EXACTLY the way I drive on the street; Mixture of 89 and 91 octane pump gas from Costco, Out-of-the-Box Edelbrock carb, 17 psi in the drag radials, but still wanted to spin ( so launched about 1500-1800 RPM). damn short sidewalls... And functional factory A/C...

First runs ever on the lower pressure drag radials. I previously ran 36 psi in the tires; 1.9 60 ft, and 13.3s ETs, with 13.7 ETs with a Demon DP (really bad traction)

I have thought of getting some slicks and bolting the Double Pumper back on, just to see what she'll do... Or maybe a 125 HP shot of nitrous...

It's been a long time since I was behind the wheel at a dragstrip but I remember running a low 10.20 and about 121mph in my super stock '69 Camaro back in the early 70s. I had it almost to the national record when Chrysler dropped their Pro Stock sponserships and all those hemis flooded SS D & E. No way could I compete with them. Dick Landy dropped the SS/EA record from 10.20 to 9.55 the 1st time out!

The Paperweight has made the best pass of 11.46 in the 1/4. Was a full pass, because it wouldn't rev over 3000 rpm in 3rd gear. found out later that the exhaust valves were smacking the pistons. (the machine shop hosed me and didn't check this. though I'll take the blame for some of it too)
Since rebuilding it and putting smaller pistons in it the best I've done is 11.81. I'll have to find the slips to find the MPH and other times.
