My Haggerty insurance is only $450.00 a year for both cars and this for 28K on the Chevelle and 32K on the Camaro of replacement value, I could not beat this price anywhere.

I have been with Hagerty for the past few years but was able to beat their annual premium back in August so I changed both my 71 Stingray and 70 Velle while raising my coverages and stated values.

Still wouldn't get my money out but if the car is lost I could probably build a new one for what I'll get, assuming I only do everything once!

I think it is a number of factors, including where you live. I had the Monte insured for $12K and it cost me more than $88 a year. The Chevelle is going to cost me around what Ray is paying.

Well, I woke up with the intention of going to Peach State Chevelle's Chevy show today but rain cancelled my plans so I decided to spend some time in the garage! Was a nice cool morning to work on the car!

Today's project

Removed my factory SB w/AC springs and QA1 D/A shocks to replace with Viking Double Adjustable coilovers. The one and only reason I did this swap was because with the standard coil springs it was nearly impossible to reach the shock knobs as they are down in the lower control arm bucket and reaching through the coils requires fingers of a 5 year old.... The coilovers will likely further hurt my cars 1/4 mile abilities but at this point I think I am just going to enjoy a fun street car. I'll still make some track trips but with lower expectations about hitting the 10 second ET this car was so close to getting.

For my own amusement I set the coilovers as low as possible to see how it looked.

It was definitely "in the weeds!" I don't think I could have backed out of the garage without dragging the header so I brought it back up a bit.

Sitting around 25.5" to the fender trim.
