Default VIN research

I have searched high and low and think i found the end of the internet trying to figure out my VIN and have concluded that it is not a chevelle VIN but I do not know what it is from. My title say has the VIN and the DMV does as well.

Any insite would be nice.

1967 chevelle

13517GLB03195

Let me know what you know.

Thanks Nick

I was looking I did get a partial hit on a 1961 truck. Anyway at night after work I am playing with it. See where the bread crumbs lead.
The 17 in there then the letters is really bizzare and doesn't seem to match anything ever made.

Back in the day if it was stolen and stripped. They could issue a vin in certain states. I kinda wonder if that is what happened.

After my domestic duties I will search on. My puzzle to solve. We all love a good mystery.

That helped. There is a universal lookup and a slightly different one for the 67. Everything matches now except your G which should be a 7 for 1967, and the B should be a production count number. A 1 or a 2 because the ran out of numbers. L is saying build in Van Nuys.

The rest is lining up correctly.. Malibu 6 cylinder 2 dr sport coupe.

They are saying it could have been stamped at the dealer. Vin plate was not attached when it arrived. But also state this was rare.

The Canadian lookup only goes to the 13517 and the rest is in limbo. No definite rules after that. Probably the dealer stamping and put it on deal.

So I am not god but it looks like a chevelle vin to me with 2 letters where numbers belong for whatever reason.

There are exceptions mentioned to the stamping of the vin other than from the plant. But after that it is very vague why and mumble mumble stuff. They don't know is what that means. But they do know something outside god(Maker of the rulebook writen decades after the fact) and his classification was going on.

Do you have a picture of the VIN tag?

From the first part 13517 - I get 1 - Chevrolet, 35 - Malibu 6 cylinder, 17 - 2 door sport coupe

The GLB throws me for a loop.

Interesting. I bet Dale Macintosh would like to see that. (Chevellestuff.net)

On another note, does the car still have the trim tag intact on the firewall? I am now curious what that looks like after seeing the VIN tag.
