Welcome Roger. Thats one beautiful chevelle you have there !
I must admit that I know very little about the Copo cars other then they are rare, worth a lot of cash, and fast. Can you tell us how many were made like your ? Dave

Stripes, 69 COPO/Dick Harrell Chevelle
Dave - There were a few '68 HARRELL CARS - Transplant 427 Chevelles, Camaro's and Novas in addition to a few '69 COPO/Harrell modified Camaro's and one COPO/Harrell modified Chevelle. The one I bought new is the only '69 COPO/Harrell Chevelle of which I am aware.
Derek - "hood locks" and "spec. striping" (called out on the Harrell MSRP and Bill Allen Invoice), performance mods, Sun SST802 tach (on the steering column), A Harrell emblem on the deck lid and two Chevy "V8" emblems on the front fenders - all done at Harrell's shop. An AM radio was the only factory option other than the COPO (factory installed components) stuff. That's exactly the way it was the day I bought it new, Aug 19, 1969! Provenance - RogerD's 69 COPO/Dick Harrell Chevelle
Here's a bit of history - my '66 Chevelle SS trade in docs, my '69 COPO/"Mr Chevrolet" docs (with my '66 listed) and my '70 Camaro RS (with my '69 listed).
I just kept the originals from back in the day in a 'treasure box' of stuff dating back to 2nd grade. Most of the stuff is of no value other than to bring back memories - same reason I kept my first few new car docs. Matter of fact, I have the original Owner Manual for the '66 and for the '69 still - sure glad I didn't throw this stuff out over the years as I sorted out and threw away things. Just couldn't throw these away . . . Last edited by RogerD; 11-06-2020 at 09:33 PM. Reason: add pics that dropped out from old link |
