Default How wide? Crager SS Wheels

I have a 68 Chevelle and my plan is to put Crager SS wheels on it. It will look old school with 15 inchers on it. The fronts will be 15X7 and I want the widest possible on the back. Will a 15X10 fit on the back and not rub? If so, what would the backspacing be? I will have to order on line or through a catalog since in my town the SS wheels are gold plated or something...I plan on Mickey Thompsons all the way around. Any thoughts would be good. Thanks

You can squeeze a 15x10 in there, but you'll have to roll or trim the lips of the quarter panels. I can't remember if it's 5" backspace or 5-1/2" backspace you need, but the limitation is that the rim will rub the shock mount on the axle if you have too much backspace, and of course, the tire will rub the quarter panel if you don't have enough.

It can be done, but careful measuring will be necessary.

Default Thanks

I had a feeling 15X10 might rub a bit. I hate to cut on the car and I cringe whenever I hear tires rub that cost me too much. 15X8 it is.
