Default removing the master cylinder and booster

How hard/easy is it to remove the master cylinder and booster from a 1970 Chevelle? Mine is painted all black and I want to strip the paint off to reveal the brass color of the booster and paint the master cylinder silver.

Thanks,
Mike

Its so simple even I can do it and thats simple .Just unbolt and re install the reverse of how you took it off. Just dont lose the rod on the back of the booster .Be careful not to strip the nuts on the lines ,dont use a regular wrench.Go to your auto parts store for a pair of line wrenches ,dont remember the sizes but my 72 had one smaller than the other .

Thanks guys. so there are just the 4 bolt and a rod connected to the brake pedal? And the 2 brake lines of course. sounds easy enough. Thanks!

You may have to have the booster replated if it's been painted and the master cylinder should be painted cast gray

If that's the case, I might as well buy a nice shiney chrome one.

Here's a couple sites to consider if you want to restore your booster and master.
http://www.brakeboosters.com/ Steve Gregori is great to do business with.
http://www.resleeve.com/index.htm This place can rebuild your master. They will also powder coat it in the cast gray.
