It would make it a whole lot easier to find if you linked it. Or copy and paste it here. Then we can help too.

Could it be metal flexing and popping? Do you have the frame braces on the rear control arms?

OK. Here goes.
On jack stands all day. Looked and tugged and hit everything. Everything is perfect. All bolts, nuts are tight with no sign of wobbling, etc.
It only does it under acceleration from a stop and if you're on it when it shifts.
So........ Put my wife in back seat and drove it. 50-75% gone!!!
No noise when shifting-only a little bit left when I hit it off the line. Wife stuffed towels between seat edge and panel and sat on driver side in rear.
Noise is gone !!!!!
Put her in front and left towels. Only a fraction of noise left.
Almost sounds like (now) a big socket or steel ball is banging between the well and the 1/4. Took off the vent screen in the door jamb. Everything is tight and nothing lying at the bottom like it sounds like.

Will start again tomorrow.
Any ideas?
Randy

I copied the 2 posts backwards
dumb, huh?
But what does anybody think?
Thanks
Randy
Took back seats out. Double checked every bushing, bolt, mount, weld there is and everything looks good. No cracking in bushings, rubbers, etc. Body mounts all tight. U Joints are tight and greased.
It sounds like the sound is coming from inside the quarter on driver side. With seat out and sitting back there, sounds like it's just below the line where the vinyl top trim runs parallel with the body. About in that area. We reached from front to back and back to front. Nothing in there except my wife's fingers. (scared the hell out of her too)
Ran the car on the stands, but no noise. It doesn't get the same "rise" out of the car. No torque twist or lift ya' know?
So now it comes and goes. ARRRGGGHHH!
Had the wife walk along side the car and I punched it and braked, punched it and braked. Can't hear it from the outside.
Okay-- bear with me here... It sounds like a chunk or a ball of steel hanging on a string inside the quarter-- "Banging" against the wall. But not a sound under panic stop braking.

Now what?
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Randy

Still sounds like something related to rear axle and frame twist, that's why I was thinking frame braces. You can get MOOG bushings at AutoValue and NAPA I think.

I think you said all body mounts are good and tight, correct?

Yessir all tight and the body bushings are mushroomed out like they're supposed to be. I need to get it on a rack and double check all the bushings and bolts with no load and use a jack to pre load it I guess. What a pain, huh? But I'll find it!!!
Thanks Hank.

Good luck Randy. Those type of problems are really hard to help with over the internet. I'm sure you'll nail it.
